Linton and St. Mary’s

Linton is a village that lies about 10 miles South-East of Cambridge, UK. Whilst managing to retain the ‘feel’ of a village, it is a bustling and friendly community. At the heart of all this lies St. Mary’s… St. Mary’s has a history that goes back many centuries. You will see from this website that there are plenty of activities going on in the church; midweek services, Alpha Groups, a Julian Group, a thriving youth work, Junior Church and a Church School, to name but a few. A bit about me…

As for me, I have been Rector since October 2009. Prior to that, I was on Faculty at Ridley Hall Theological College as Director of the Centre for Youth Ministry. Before that, I was Vicar in various parishes in North Essex, the East End of London and on an urban estate near Birmingham.

I have always been very heavily involved in youth work, both in the UK and overseas – particularly India, South Africa, the US, Norway and mainland Europe. I was Chair of the International Association for the Study of Youth Ministry and founding Editor of the Journal of Youth and Theology. I have written a number of books on theology, youth ministry and pastoral theology – and you will find links to these elsewhere on the website.

I am thrilled to be appointed as Rector of the Linton Team Ministry; a Benefice comprising Linton plus four other villages (soon to be joined by three more villages). I was a member of the congregation for fifteen months prior to my appointment, so I have seen God at work here for a while and am excited by what is happening in the name of the Kingdom of God.
